&description=New Web site for a Vital International Advocacy Organization
The Berndt Group designed and developed a new content managed web site for a vital New York City-based, international advocacy organization, Treatment Action Group (TAG). TAG is an independent AIDS research and policy think tank fighting for better treatment, a vaccine, and a cure for AIDS. The organization works to ensure that all people with HIV receive life saving treatment, care, and information - and TAG's new site needed to clearly and accurately reflect and promote this mission.
Additionally, TAG is comprised of science-based treatment activists working to expand and accelerate vital research and effective community engagement with research and policy institutions. A main focus for the organization is to catalyze open collective action by all affected communities, scientists, and policymakers to end AIDS. The Berndt Group created a site that positions TAG as a respected, well-connected, science-based policy organization with a history and future of determined activism.
TAG wanted a design that adhered to it's brand standards, but the focus for the site was on information dissemination rather than design that may distract from the important information the organization provides to its constituents. TAG can now present information in a clear and consistent manner, so key audiences can easily locate the most up-to-date, current, and factual materials on TAG and it's programs. Users can also subscribe to email alerts or TAG publications, or post a blog entry, allowing TAG to keep in constant contact with their audience. Donation functionality allows supporters to provide donations to TAG. There are also clear calls to action throughout the site, to engage visitors with the content.
We implemented the new site in the Ektron 400 CMS. The CMS allows for fast and easy site updates, giving TAG enhanced communication and networking with their global community of scientists, activists, and policy makers.
