The Berndt Group worked with the National Aquarium in Baltimore (NAIB) to refresh its homepage by adding a Flash component. The Aquarium wanted to be able to highlight and feature multiple upcoming events, programs and exhibits on the site's homepage.
We selected Flash so the information was delivered in a more interesting and interactive way, reflective of the interactive nature of an actual visit to the Aquarium. The Flash is content managed via RedDot. It serves both an informational purpose for the public as well as serves as a marketing tool for Aquarium staff.
We have worked on a number of other projects for the Aquarium, including designing Aqua Mail, the Aquarium's email newsletter, kiosk sequences and Web components for the Dolphin Play Show and Shark Quest exhibit, and an interactive CD-ROM about the Chesapeake Bay. We have also designed microsites for the Australia and Frogs exhibits and most recently created a content managed, Flash-based Trip Planner for the web site.
