Berndt Group Closes Significant New Work in the Higher Education, Nonprofit and Government Sectors
March 24, 2009
BALTIMORE, MD—The Berndt Group, a Baltimore, MD-based full service interactive agency, announced today that it has acquired several new clients. New clients include Towson University, Chemical Heritage Foundation, CGI Federal and Maryland Highway Safety Foundation.
The Berndt Group has also closed significant new work for existing clients Arts Every Day, Loyola College, and the National Aquarium in Baltimore.
The Berndt Group will work with Towson University on a RedDot Content Management System (CMS) implementation for the University's web site. The project will have a strong focus on usability and CMS best practices.
For Chemical Heritage Foundation (CHF), a nonprofit located in Philadelphia, PA, The Berndt Group is undertaking a web site redesign project from strategy and graphic design through CMS implementation in the CrownPeak CMS. The Chemical Heritage Foundation is a library, museum, and center for scholars. CHF maintains world-class collections, including instruments and apparatus, rare books, fine art, and the personal papers of prominent scientists, all related to the chemical and molecular sciences.
In the government sector, The Berndt Group will partner with CGI Federal to complete consulting work for Medicare. We are also working with nonprofit, the Maryland Highway Safety Foundation on a new web site. The Maryland Highway Safety Foundation (MHSF) is dedicated to improving highway safety by providing education in the field of highway safety including driver education; preventing collisions by discouraging dangerous driver behaviors and by improving highway safety measures and features; and providing financial support to emergency response providers and other safety nets.
The Berndt Group is also undertaking some interesting new work for existing clients. In November 2008, The Berndt Group launched a content managed, Ektron-based web site for Arts Every Day. Arts Every Day is leading a collaborative effort to build relationships between the arts community and Baltimore City schools and parents. The web site, designed and developed by The Berndt Group, allows Baltimore City educators to identify artists and cultural organizations that can supplement classroom education and provide cultural experiences. The Berndt Group is currently working with Arts Every Day on a second phase of development for the site. This next phase of development will involve an eCommerce component, educators' blog, building out the lesson plan section of the site with a robust search interface, and implementing a ratings system for members to rate programs and events.
Loyola College is a longstanding client of The Berndt Group; we built a Single Source Publishing System application for Print and Web Course Catalogs for the College that undergoes yearly updates. Recently, we completed a CMS selection process for the College and are kicking off a CMS implementation project, working closely with Loyola developers to implement the Sitecore CMS.
The Berndt Group has completed many projects for the National Aquarium over the years, including Webby-award winning web site design and RedDot development; multiple microsites, Flash games and kiosks, and a content managed, Flash-based Trip planner application. We are currently working on a microsite with Flash game and kiosk for the new dolphin show, opening in early April 2009.
John Berndt, CEO, commented, "These are great new clients to be working with. We are really enjoying the chance to work with some very smart teams on projects that will have a real effect on people’s lives."
